Originally released in 1970, Bitches Brew became Davis's first gold album. This anniversary 4-disc package offers the original album on CD plus an audiophile vinyl pressing on 2 LPs; previously unissued material including extensive live performances of much of the same music including a DVD of the entire Copenhagen performance from November 4, 1969. Also included is a 52-page 12x12 book, with 5,000-word essay and Producers’ notes. The book also features Mati Klarwein’s painting Zonked on its cover, plus dozens of rare, unpublished photographs and record label memos. There’s also a memorabilia envelope containing a reproduction of the Miles Davis Rolling Stone cover story from December 1969, previously unseen correspondence from Teo Macero’s archives, reproductions of three Fillmore West concert tickets from April 1970, high quality photograph prints, and a foldout poster of Miles Davis.
