AJis our resident weirdo and creative director. born 20 mins outside of the city in a commuter town called stamford, I grew up in a cultural bubble of strip malls and radio rock. I honestly think that there wasn’t anything interesting about me until I that faithful day i stumbled onto the nyhc scene. It changed my life, in every way possible. From there it branched into punk, a colorful litany of metal sub genres, post punk/rock, shoe gaze, etc, really anyhitng dark and heavy I loved. I even spent a short while as a drum and bass DJ cause that was an acceptable thing to do in 2001. And that’s really where my love for vinyl came form, secret record shops in the back of pawn shops in midtown, or crawling crates in a flea market in chelsea, I loved it, I loved finding stuff that was too bizzare to exist. I remember thinking, if they put this on wax, I have a shot. And that’s why I started playing music. I’m in a shoe gaze/post rock band called Sannhet. My lifes goal was to have something I created immortalized in archival black vinyl. We now have several records out. And knowing that weird kid is going to find my record in a create in a flea market in chelsea someday fills me with the kind of joy that would make a small dog pee all over the floor.
i collect vinyl because it reminds me that “i was there”.
