It’s a good thing that the year is almost over, because as it stands it’s been one of the most tragic years that we, as music fans, have ever seen.
David Bowie, Prince, Phife Dawg, Sharon Jones, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell...and on...and on...and on.
It’s sad, yes, but you know what? Decades from now, these fallen heroes’ influence will remain steadfast.
Music doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The musicians of today are only carrying the torch and building on the work of those that preceded them.
That’s why we’ve chosen to celebrate 2016’s fallen artists by helping to ensure that today’s youth are encouraged to pick up an instrument.
For the next 24 hours, we’ll be donating $2 from each item sold from our “In Memoriam Collection” to VH1’s Save the Music Foundation -- a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to restoring music programs in America’s public schools.
