Jethro Tull notched its sixth gold record in 1975 with its eighth studio album, Minstrel In The Gallery. Its elaborate production is reminiscent of the band's 1972 classic Thick As a Brick and its songs rock as hard as anything in the band's vast and storied catalog. When it was originally released, Minstrel In The Gallery became the band's fifth consecutive U.S. Top 10 album, peaking at #7, and at #29 in the U.K. It would also be the last to feature the longtime lineup of Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, John Evans, Barrie Barlow and Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond.

To mark the occasion of the album's 40-year anniversary, Rhino presents this La Grande Edition 2CD+2DVD set that features a new stereo and surround sound mix of the album by Steven Wilson along with seven bonus tracks, six of which are previously unreleased.

CD 1 contains the original album featuring the new Steven Wilson stereo remix plus bonus tracks including three from the BBC sessions. The second CD in the package features a live recording of the band performing at the Olympia in Paris on July 5, 1975, a few months prior to the release of Minstrel In The Gallery. The concert recording features a stereo mix by King Crimson guitarist Jakko Jakszyk.

DVD 1 (audio) includes the new Steven Wilson 5.1 DTS and AC3 Dolby Digital surround sound remixes of the original album and bonus tracks along with –Summerday Sands" and a very different version of –Requiem," plus flat transfers of the original LP mix at 96/24 LPCM stereo and a flat transfer of the original QUAD mix. Both of these mixes include the B-side –Summerday Sands."

DVD 2 (audio & video) features Jakko Jakszyk's 5.1 surround mix of the 1975 Paris concert along with an eight and a half minute Minstrel In The Gallery promo video clip from the Palais Des Sports, Paris, 6th July 1975.
