Description & Details
Who is Snake Eyes?
A black belt ninja proficient in 12 different fighting styles, Snake Eyes is skilled in bladed weapons, especially his Japanese katana and trench knives with spiked edges. Equally adept with firearms and explosives, he is one of the most prominent characters in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero franchise. Much of the history and details about his personal life and military service, including his real name and birthplace, have been kept confidential or classified in all representations of his origin due to the covert military operations he participated in. His primary military specialty is infantry, and his secondary specialty is hand-to-hand combat instructor. At one point, he left the military to study martial arts with Storm Shadow’s Arashikage ninja clan. Snake Eyes lived a life of self-denial and isolation in the High Sierra, accompanied by his pet wolf, Timber, before being recruited into the G.I. Joe team. During one of his first missions, he was severely injured, leaving his vocal cords irreparably damaged; as a result, he is mute and communicates solely through gestures. G.I. Joe debuted in 1964, created by Hasbro as an action figure line inspired by various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Action-Soldier (Army), Action-Sailor (Navy), Action-Pilot (Air Force), and Action-Marine (Marine Corps).
The term "action figure" was coined to describe this innovative product. In 1982, Hasbro relaunched G.I. Joe with 3 ¾-inch figures and an expanded collection. TV commercials gave rise to an animated series and a comic book line produced by Marvel, which significantly boosted the franchise’s success. Interestingly, Snake Eyes was initially designed to save costs for Hasbro by using unpainted black plastic with no added detail for his mask. Exploring the Snake Eyes statue: On a rugged, mountainous terrain, melting snow clings to the soles of his black boots as the fierce, silent warrior charges downhill. Wielding an Uzi submachine gun in his right hand and his customized black katana in his left hand, the warrior is wearing an all-black tactical costume adorned with the symbol of his ninja clan proudly displayed on his arm like a rank badge and his face is concealed by a mask reminiscent of a medieval helm. By his side is his most loyal companion and combat partner, a large wolf with teeth as sharp as the blades of its master. Introducing one of the most sought-after franchises by fans and collectors, Iron Studios presents the statue "Snake Eyes and Timber - G.I. Joe - Art Scale 1/10", featuring one of the original and most beloved members of the G.I. Joe team, accompanied by his wolf partner Timber and including an extra interchangeable head with the character’s original visor-style mask.
